Executive Staff

President - Michael Meaney

Michael Meaney is a senior from Tucson, Arizona studying International Politics in the School of Foreign Service, with a concentration in Foreign Policy. He is actively involved in the Center for Social Justice Alternative Spring Break program. Michael is a John Carroll Fellow, and has worked as a research assistant through the Gervase GUROP program. He currently works for the Jesuit Conference Office for Social and International Ministries. During his junior year, Michael studied abroad at Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City.

Vice-President - Greg Laverriere

Greg Laverriere is from Huntington, New York. He is a senior in the College majoring in Government and Economics with a minor in Sociology. He is currently serving as Vice President of the Student Body after serving on the Senate Finance and Appropriations Committee. He is looking forward to working hard every day to serve students. He is a fan of anything related to the New York Yankees and loves watching the Entourage and the West Wing.

Chief of Staff - Michael Barclay

Michael Barclay is a senior in the College, double majoring in Biology and Government. He originally hails the UK, but currently resides in Old Lyme, Connecticut. He is also involved in ResLife, the Triathlon team, and NSO. He is looking forward to a great year ahead serving as the Chief of Staff for the GUSA executive.

Deputy Chief of Staff - Chris Pigott

Chris Pigott is a senior in the College, majoring in American Studies. He is originally from Jackson, Mississippi and is the former Vice-Speaker and Dean of the GUSA Senate. He is humbled and honored to be appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for Mike and Greg's executive staff and looks forward to making the hilltop a better place for all Hoyas.

Deputy Chief of Staff - Ronak Parikh

Ronak Parikh is a senior in the McDonough School of Business, double majoring in Finance and International Business and double minoring in Government and Economics. Like most Hoyas on campus, he hails from the great state of New Jersey. Ronak has been involved with the Hindu Students Association, GU Jawani, ResLife, Rangila, the Undergraduate Marketing Association, Interfaith Council, and the International Relations Club. He is looking forward to putting his best efforts in serving the student body as the Deputy Chief of Staff in the new GUSA administration.

Deputy Chief of Staff - John Morris

John Morris is a junior in the College currently majoring in Government and minoring in Theology. He is originally from Ridgewood, New Jersey. He spent the duration of his freshman year on the Executive Outreach Board, where he learned about the kind of impact that GUSA truly has on campus, and spent his sophomore year as the co-Director of Executive Outreach. He is excited to become even more involved in the GU Student Association in the coming year and hopes to assist the other members of the Executive Board in any way possible during the 2011-2012 term.

Executive Secretary - Stephanie Kuo

Stephanie Kuo is a junior in the McDonough School of Business, majoring in Finance and International Business. Hailing from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Stephanie has been involved in the International Relations Club and Alpha Phi Omega since coming to Georgetown. Stephanie also works in the Provost’s Office as the assistant to the Director of Academic Events and at the McDonough School of Business Technology Center as a technology consultant. She is excited to be serving as the Executive Secretary and is looking forward to contributing to a successful year with GUSA.

Director of Communications (Press Releases) - Matt Hoyt

Matt Hoyt is a senior in the College double majoring in Government and English. He hails from Columbia, MD, but considers himself a Washingtonian in heart and mind. He’s an active and frequent volunteer with DC Habitat for Humanity, and previously served as President of GU Habitat for Humanity. On campus he has previously worked as a Peer Mentor, GUSA Senator, GUSA FinApp member, ASB Trip Leader, and Secretary of the GU Ping Pong Club. As communications director this year, he’s excited to put his passion for writing to good use.

Director of Communications (Editorials) - Karl Schuettler

Karl Schuettler is a senior in the School of Foreign Service majoring in Regional and Comparative Studies with a concentration in Latin America. He is new to GUSA, but has participated in on-campus activities such as the Georgetown Community Garden Club and various initiatives with the Center for Social Justice. He is a native of Duluth, Minnesota, and spent the fall semester in Mexico City. Karl enjoys reading, writing, the New York Yankees, hockey, and anything relating to his home state.

Director of Funding and Administration Reform - Shuo Yan Tan

Shuo Yan Tan is a senior in the School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Political Economy. After serving a mandatory two years of military service in the Singapore Army, he arrived on the Hilltop as a 21-year old freshman. As Director of Funding and Administration Reform, he will draw on his involvement with the IRC, ISA, IPO, DAC and the Endowment Commission. His prior work experiences include the Government of Singapore Investment Corporation, Singapore Ministry of Finance and the Singapore International Foundation.

Director of Executive Affairs - Kevin Love

Kevin Love is a senior hailing from Manhasset, New York. He is in the College majoring in Mathematics and Economics. This will be his first time working with GUSA, and he will be filling the role of Director of Executive Affairs. In addition to GUSA, Kevin is involved in the Club Lacrosse and Triathlon teams, as well as Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity. He hopes to increase communication among students, the administration, and the Georgetown neighborhood and foster several promising initiatives to fruition.

Senior Counselor - Sam Ungar

Sam Ungar is a senior in the College, majoring in government, and is originally from Scotch Plains, New Jersey. He is a student association veteran, having previously served as GUSA Parliamentarian and Chief of Staff to the Speaker of the Fourth GUSA Senate. When he’s not living and breathing GUSA, Sam is an active member of the International Relations Club and a dedicated fan of the New York Yankees. Sam is excited and humbled to join the executive as an adviser.

Director of Special Projects - Tyler Sax

A junior in the College, Tyler hails from the great city of New Orleans, LA. He spends most of his time at Georgetown advocating on behalf of student rights, watching basketball, and earning his keep through freelance web-development. After retiring from his legislative duties in the GUSA Senate, Tyler took a position as Director of Special Projects for the Executive branch. He hopes to eventually leave the hilltop with a pair of degrees in Political Economy and Computer Science.

Secretary of Athletic Affairs - Bobby McGann

Bobby McGann is from Little Silver, NJ which is situated on the Jersey Shore. He is a junior in the College and majoring in Economics. Bobby is a former member of the cross country team and currently volunteers with the After School Kid’s Program (ASK). Bobby looks forward to solving issues faced by student-athletes and fostering an academic, social and professional environment. He enjoys scuba diving, tennis and watching some of the finest films created, particularly Armageddon, The Rock, Fever Pitch and Big Daddy.

Secretary of Career Services - Tandice Ossareh

Tandice Ossareh is a senior in the College majoring in Government, with minors in Theology and French. At Georgetown, Tandice has been highly involved with DC Reads as a tutor and previously as a coordinator, and she also cohosts a WGTB radio show. Tandice seeks to create a strong liaison between the Career Center and the student body, and she hopes to make the job hunting process a little more bearable. Tandice is really from Potomac, Maryland but tells people she’s from D.C.

Secretary of Diversity Affairs - Justin Pinn

Justin Pinn hails from the Great State of Ohio. He is a junior in the College and is pursuing a double major in English and Government with a minor in Sociology. Justin spent his summer before freshman year as a Community Scholar,where he first began to engage with diversity and cultural issues. Justin serves as a mentor to under-privileged DC high school students. He is looking forward to a great year as the Secretary of Diversity Affairs and is making it his goal to talk with everyone who wants their voice heard in regards to diversity issues.

Secretary of Information and Technology - Michael Crouch

Michael Crouch is a junior in the MSB majoring in Finance and OPIM, with a minor in History. He is originally from Port Elizabeth, South Africa but now lives in Atlanta, Georgia. In addition to his role as the Secretary of Information Technology, Michael works in the MSB technology department as an AV technician. Over the course of the next year, he hopes to continue to develop GUSA’s new website, increase communication with the student body through social media platforms, and provide the resources necessary for other cabinet members to achieve their goals.

Secretary of Strategic Development - Tom Bosco

Tom Bosco is a senior finance and management major hailing from Colts Neck, New Jersey. At Georgetown, he is a member of The Corp's Accounting Division, Sigma Phi Epsilon, New Student Orientation, the Georgetown Voice, and the GUSA Endowment Commission. After being in student-run organizations for three years, Tom is looking to make an impact on more institutional matters in his last year at Georgetown.

Secretary of Student Safety - Charlie Joyce

Charlie Joyce is a senior in the College from Bedford, NY. He plans to focus on a more unified and professional atmosphere around Georgetown by working with underclassmen and administrators. Charlie got involved in GUSA Grassroots during his freshman year and has since worked with GUSA to promote student life initiatives. Charlie is studying for a major in Political Economy, with a minor in Spanish. He has been involved in the Freshman Lightweight Crew Team and worked as a Research Intern for the Pew Forum for Religion and World Affairs.

Secretary of Sustainability - Jessie Robbins

Jessie Robbins is from Concord, North Carolina. She is a senior studying Science, Technology and International Affairs in the SFS, concentrating in Environment and Energy. In addition to her involvement in GUSA, she is involved with efforts to bring solar energy to the homes of Georgetown students and residents. Her academic interests include energy and food policy. She is also active in the International Relations Club, GU Concert Choir, and Delta Phi Epsilon Sorority where she currently serves as Alumnae Relations Chair.

Secretary of Treasury - Charles Jang

Charles Jang is a senior in the McDonough School of Business majoring in Finance. He grew up in West Orange, New Jersey and considers New Jersey the Mecca of bosses in today's society. CJang looks forward to working with GUSA to oversee the responsible allocation of funds. Besides working with numbers, Charles enjoys playing guitar and listening to R&B music, playing tennis, and weightlifting.

Director of Executive Outreach - Maggie Cleary

Maggie Cleary is currently a sophomore in the College planning on majoring in Philosophy and minoring in English. She hails from the great state of Virginia (Northern Virginia, to be exact), and has great things in mind for GUSA outreach.

Director of Neighborhood Relations - James Avino

Originally from Buffalo, NY, James Avino is a senior in the School of Foreign Service, majoring in International Politics. He spent last summer in Ecuador, and looks forward to serving as an Orientation Advisor with NSO for a second time this fall. As Director of Neighborhood Relations, James looks to address some of the divisive issues students and neighbors face, and most importantly, advocate student interests in our community. James enjoys lacrosse and skiing in his free time, and hopes to serve as a Naval Officer after graduating.

Co-Director of Student Advocacy Office - Ace Factor

Ace Factor is a senior from Fort Worth Texas. He is a double major in Classics and Government. Ace has served his peers as Vice-Chair of the Freshman Class Committee and was elected to the GUSA Senate as a sophomore. Aside from student government, he is involved on campus as an NSO orientation advisor, a Blue and Gray tour-guide, and also works as a supervisor raising funds at Georgetown Phonathon. Ace is excited to add a new perspective to the GUSA executive by making GUSA more vocal in representing issues that affect students.

Co-Director of Student Advocacy Office - James Pickens

James Pickens is an English major in the College, class of 2012. James hopes his English major will lead to success matching such famous Georgetown graduates as Bradley Cooper and Mike Birbiglia. James has served as an RA and worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch’s Global Wealth Management office. As an RA, James gained perspective on how he wants to make the Student Code of Conduct more transparent and fairer toward students. James fervently dislikes straight lines on chalkboards.
